IEHP & MEDI-CAL
Psychiatric care for IEHP and Medi-Cal members in the Inland Empire
Care with Fady Boules, PMHNP-BC — a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
If your insurance is IEHP, you can be seen here. We accept IEHP (Medi-Cal) for psychiatric evaluation and medication management, for children ages 5 and up, teens, and adults.
Visits are in person at our Redlands office or by secure video anywhere in California. New patients are usually seen within the same week.

If you are in crisis right now, please don't wait for a callback. Call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (free, 24/7), text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line, or go to your nearest emergency room. If someone's life is in immediate danger, call 911.
IEHP, the Inland Empire Health Plan, covers more than a million people in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. If you are one of them, finding a psychiatric provider who takes your plan should not be the hardest part of getting help.
Call us and tell us you have IEHP. Our intake team checks your benefits before your first visit, so you know where you stand before you come in.
Who we see
Is this your situation?
- You Have IEHP
- Your card says IEHP, and you need someone who can work out what is going on, make a diagnosis, and manage medication if it becomes part of the plan.
- You Searched for a Psychiatrist
- You looked for a psychiatrist who takes IEHP. Your care here is with a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, who is trained and licensed to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe.
- Your Doctor Suggested a Specialist
- Your regular doctor started you on something, or thinks it may be time, and you'd feel better with a mental-health specialist managing it.
- It Is for Your Child
- You are a parent looking for psychiatric care for a child or a teen. We see ages 5 and up.
- You Have Waited Long Enough
- You have been on a waitlist somewhere else. New patients here are usually seen within the same week.
- You Are Not Sure Which Plan You Have
- Your Medi-Cal card names your health plan. If it is not IEHP, call anyway. We may still be in-network.
Not sure whether what you're going through needs a psychiatric visit at all? Call for a free 15-minute consultation. We'll figure it out together.
Getting started
How care works with IEHP
-
Call, and say you have IEHP
Call (909) 707-6261 or request a callback. If you would like to talk it through first, the first call is a free 15-minute consultation. It helps to have your insurance card in front of you.
-
We check your benefits
Our intake team checks your benefits before your first visit. Before scheduling, the team confirms your plan, clinician, visit type, and expected cost, so you know where you stand before you come in.
-
Your first visit, then ongoing care
We meet in person in Redlands or by secure video for a full evaluation. You leave with a plan you understand and helped build. Follow-up visits adjust your treatment, manage medications, and check on progress.
Looking for therapy as well? IEHP says its members can see a behavioral health specialist for therapy without a referral. IEHP's mental health page explains how to ask.

What it costs
Insurance & cost
IEHP and Medi-Cal
We accept IEHP (Medi-Cal). Coverage varies by plan, and intake verifies your benefits before your first visit.
Have a different Medi-Cal plan? Call. We may still be in-network.
What a visit costs you depends on your coverage. The intake team tells you your expected cost before you schedule.
Other plans and self-pay
We also accept Kaiser SoCal, Medicare and most major plans. The full list is on the care page.
Initial psychiatric evaluation: $175
Each follow-up appointment: $75
Need a ride? IEHP offers its Medi-Cal members rides to covered appointments at no cost, and says this includes mental health appointments. Ask IEHP at least five calendar days before a routine visit. IEHP's transportation page has the details.

Common questions
Questions IEHP members ask
Are you a psychiatrist?
No—and it's a fair thing to ask. Your care here is provided by Fady Boules, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor (an MD or DO). A PMHNP is an advanced-practice provider who specializes in mental health—trained and licensed to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe and manage psychiatric medications. Different training, same goal: careful, thorough psychiatric care.
Do you accept IEHP or Medi-Cal?
Yes—we accept IEHP (Medi-Cal), Kaiser SoCal and most major plans. Coverage varies by plan, and intake verifies your benefits before your first visit. Have a different Medi-Cal plan? Call—we may still be in-network. If you are a self-pay patient, care is a straightforward $175 for the initial psychiatric evaluation and $75 for follow-up appointments.
Do I need a referral to be seen with IEHP?
No referral is needed to get started. You can begin with a free 15-minute call, or request a callback and our office will reach out directly. Our intake team checks your benefits before your first visit and tells you if your plan needs anything more from you.
What will a visit cost me with IEHP?
That depends on your plan and your coverage, so we do not guess. Before scheduling, the intake team confirms your plan, clinician, visit type, and expected cost. You hear the number before you commit to anything.
Can IEHP give me a ride to my appointment?
IEHP offers its Medi-Cal members rides to covered appointments at no cost, and says this includes mental health appointments. IEHP asks members to request the ride at least five calendar days before a routine visit. The ride is arranged through IEHP, not through our office.
How fast can I be seen?
Most new patients are scheduled and seen within the same week, either in person at our Redlands office or by secure video appointment anywhere in California.
Can I be seen by video if I have IEHP?
Yes. We see patients in person in Redlands or by secure video anywhere in California, and that includes all of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. A few medications carry specific rules about how they can be prescribed by video, and we'll walk you through anything that applies to your specific treatment plan.
I have Medi-Cal, but my plan is not IEHP. Can I still come?
Call and ask. Your Medi-Cal card names your health plan. We may still be in-network, and the intake team will check before you schedule. If we are not, we will tell you plainly, and self-pay rates are listed on this page.
What ages do you see?
Ages 5 and up: children, teens, and adults.
Are visits available in other languages?
Visits are available in English and Arabic. Inland Psychiatric Medical Group also offers its intake forms in Spanish.
